Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 11, 2026
1. What We Do
Privacy Sweep helps you find and remove your personal information from data broker websites. We act as your authorized agent to submit opt-out and deletion requests on your behalf.
2. Information We Collect
To scan for and remove your data, we collect only the information necessary to identify your records on data broker sites:
- Full name
- Email address
- Current and previous addresses
- Phone numbers
- Names of known relatives (optional)
- Date of birth (only where required for broker verification)
We collect only what data brokers already have. We never ask for Social Security numbers, financial information, or government IDs.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively to:
- Scan data broker sites for matching records
- Submit opt-out and deletion requests on your behalf
- Verify your identity to brokers when required
- Monitor for re-listing and resubmit removal requests
- Communicate with you about the status of your removals
We neversell, share, rent, or repurpose your personal data. We don't run ads. We don't build profiles on you. We don't use your data for training AI models. Our revenue comes from your subscription — not from your data.
4. Data Storage & Security
- All stored personal data is encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM via age).
- Our AI agents process data in isolated, ephemeral environments and never retain raw PII beyond the active removal session.
- We store only the minimum data needed for ongoing monitoring and re-removal.
- You can delete all your data from Privacy Sweep at any time. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
5. Data Brokers & Third Parties
To remove your data from brokers, we must submit your information to those brokers. This is the core function of the service. We submit only the minimum information each broker requires, and only to brokers you've authorized us to contact. Once submitted, that broker's own privacy policy governs how they handle the information — but since our purpose is deletion, they are legally obligated to remove it.
6. California DROP
When you use our DROP integration, we act as your authorized agent under the California Delete Act (SB 362). We submit your hashed identifiers to the California Privacy Protection Agency's DROP platform, which distributes deletion requests to all 545+ registered data brokers. The CPPA's privacy practices apply to data processed through DROP.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all personal data we store about you
- Correct any inaccurate data
- Delete all your data from Privacy Sweep
- Export your data in a portable format (JSON)
- Withdraw consent and cancel your subscription at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@privacysweep.io.
8. Cookies & Tracking
We use only essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising cookies, or tracking pixels. No Google Analytics. No Facebook Pixel. No fingerprinting.
